From the Arlington Superintendent's June 2014 Report to the Arlington Community:
"What do you do to make a windowless room feel connected to the outside? AHS art teacher Nancy
Muise and the students in her two painting classes had the answer. They created seven 4' X 4' paintings
of windows that are now permanently installed in the community room of the Fox Library in East Arlington.  Ms. Muise was approached by Karen Dillon, the Russell Fund coordinator for the Robbins Library, and owner or ArtisTRY Studios about
creating something for the room. She explained how important the space is to the community, and
talked about the different groups that meet there every week. "Portals" and "windows" were chosen as
the subject to suggest air, light, or a grand view. Works by artists Raoul Dufy, Henri Matisse, Elena
Usheva and Jan Van der Kooi provided the inspiration. Every student had a hand in painting or drawing
out ideas, and each learned a great deal about color mixing, glazing and layering paints and brushwork.
